This Chandra Grahan will be visible in India, other Asian countries, Australia, North America, parts of northern and eastern Europe and most of South America.
In India, only the eastern parts of the country will be able to see the lunar eclipse whereas the rest of the country would see a partial eclipse.

According to the Hindu Scriptures, it is believed that at the time of Samudra Manthan, Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Nymph (Apasara) and started distributing Amrit among all the dieties (Devta). At that time a demon who was known as Swarbhanu sat there in the group of dieties to take the Amrit. When diety Chandra and Surya got to know about that Swarbhanu had also consumed the Amrit, they both informed Lord Vishnu and knowing that Lord Vishnu chopped off the head of Swarbhanu. Even after chopping off the head, Swarbhanu did not die because of consuming the Amrit. The body of Swarbhanu was divided into two parts i.e. the head and rest of the body into another part. The head part is named as Rahu and the remaining part of his body is named as Ketu. From that time Rahu and Ketu became the enemy of Surya and Chandra and they started to eclipse Sun and Moon.

The Lunar Eclipse should not be seen directly as it is always advised not to see the lunar eclipse with bare eyes, However it can be seen by visiting official website of NASA, which would be live streaming this Lunar Eclipse on social media platforms. It can also be witnessed with the use of Binoculars, Telescope and DSLR camera.
